Planning Prior to Official Project Proposal

After testing out equipment and coming up with some quick ideas during the previous class we began to plan out our script/finalize the story. Our editor, Sophie, and I each came up with our rendition of what we envisioned the story to be. After a brief discussion, we decided upon Sophie's version as it fits better within where we're allowed to shoot our film, as well as not requiring any additional actors. Overall it was a better story that was easier to understand.

From there I spoke with our sound director, Kim, about what song(s) would fit best for our film. She began listening to a playlist she had found of "intense classical music." I suggested we use Sergei Prokofiev's Dance of the Knights. It was recently used in the 2021 movie, Sing 2 during a training and fight scene - as such I definitely saw even more promise in it.

Kim, Sophie, and I all listened and agreed it was a promising choice. I also thought there was a part in the song with a more intense buildup prior to listening, but I realized it was a different song. I wanted parts of both so we agreed they could be edited together.

From there, I drew up a very simple storyboard that we all agreed was a solid representation of what we wanted the story to be. Even if it wasn't concrete and there were still changes that could be made, it at least gives us a solid idea of what we needed for when we start filming.
