Writing the Story

Following our first team meeting I was tasked with creating the primary story outline for the film. Even though we had ideas written down from the first meeting, they needed to be solidified, pieces were missing, parts were contradictory, etc. It was pertinent to my group's ability to create a project proposal that we have this outline. With this outline, we all have the same information to work with when creating our parts of the project proposal - thus no inconsistencies within our proposal.

Using the written document from the first meeting (seen below), I created the story outline. The most difficult part about creating the story outline was that some of what I had written during the first meeting was shot types and vague descriptions of what would be occurring, as opposed to simply how the story would happen. This, however, was part of why creating this new outline was necessary.

The original ideas that were written down during the first team meeting.

The story overview/outline which I wrote has all details elaborately written and explained in order to simplify the process of creating our project proposal as much as possible. Even though I was the one who wrote it and already had a mental picture of the story, having the story written out in such detail will help me when creating parts of the proposal like the storyboard.

After writing this, it was distributed to all members of the group so we could begin our parts of the proposal. This was especially helpful and necessary for Luise as she was not able to be at the first team meeting - now she was filled in on the story and what would be going on. Some details still needed to be discussed with her though.
